Parent Booklet – Behavioural Support

Behavioural, Emotional, and Social Support for Parents and Carers

At our school, we are committed to providing a supportive environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Our staff undergo extensive training in behaviour management and emotional development, with many trained in the renowned Solihull Approach—a programme endorsed by the NHS, Educational Psychologists, and schools nationwide.

While much of our work in behaviour, emotional, and wellbeing support happens behind the scenes, we want parents to be informed about the strategies we use to foster a nurturing atmosphere. Balancing confidentiality with transparency can be challenging, but we aim to provide reassurance that all issues are addressed with care and professionalism.

Every child is unique, and their behaviour is shaped by their experiences rather than an inherent disposition. Some behavioural challenges may stem from underlying concerns or life experiences, and as parents, we understand that responding to difficult behaviour with empathy can be challenging. Our approach seeks to support both pupils and families in overcoming these obstacles through guidance and tailored interventions.
