Operation Encompass

As part of Singleton Schools commitment to keeping children safe, we are proud to be part of Operation Encompass. Operation encompass is a unique Police and Education early intervention system, introduced into Lancashire that provides a platform for reporting Domestic Abuse incidents to schools.

Being part of Encompass means that key adults in school will receive a notification off Lancashire Police before the start of the next school day when a child has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident the previous day. This information is given in confidence to the key adults and it enables them to provide the best possible support for the child. This means that as a school we can provide our children with the support and nurture that they need when they need it most.

Operation Encompass has been created to ensure that by 9.00am on the next school day, the school’s Key Adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident.  This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

At Singleton Church of England Primary School our Key Adults are Mrs Amanda Clayton (Head teacher) and Mrs Leonie Millward (Assistant Head Teacher)
